The responsibility of the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Office is to record and maintain for permanent record all documents related to real estate (deed, mortgages, subdivision plans, etc.) and various other documents such as veterans' discharges, notary public commissions, etc. The office is open to the public on weekdays from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM; however no documents can be accepted for recording after 4:00 PM.

Notice: Effective April 1, 2014, the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds office will be instituting a $10 rejection fee for all documents that must be returned.
Notice: In an effort to reduce costs and the amount of paper consumption by the Recorder of Deeds Office, effective September 1, 2012 this office will no longer be providing paper copies of receipts for documents submitted. The new process will be to email copies of receipts to document submitters. If we must print a paper copy of a receipt there will be a .50 cent charge per receipt requested. Please complete the form and return to the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Office, so that we can enter all email addresses for document submitters into the Landex system.
Notice: Effective July 1, 2012 the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds office will no longer be assigning book and page numbers to recorded documents. Documents will be assigned an instrument number only.

About the Office
The Bucks County Recorder of Deeds office houses records from 1684 to the present. The office is no longer preparing bound books, but all official records are retained in microfilm and microfiche modes. For your protection and accurate permanent record, all documents are filmed and the original documents are retained until the indices and records are verified. For this reason, it generally takes about three weeks for the original papers to be returned. The Recorder of Deeds Office is the only one in the Courthouse to return original papers. The papers are sent back to the person who recorded them, in most cases a Title Company or Attorney. If you have not received your papers after two months, contact the person or firm who recorded them for you. We must have a self-addressed envelope if they are to be returned by mail.
The Recorder of Deeds Office handles as many as 25 different kinds of documents in addition to deeds and mortgages. Some of them include mausoleum permits, sewer permits, cattle brands and filings under the UCC Code. For a complete list, ask for the Fee Schedule.

The Recorder of Deeds Office records Military Discharge records. When the papers are recorded, you are provided with three certified copies, in the event you need them for various veterans benefits. You will also be entitled to receive a free color photo identification card, which can be used in Bucks County for special discounts and local businesses. For more information on the Veteran Discount Card Program, go to Military Affairs. There is no fee for filing your Military Discharge papers since the fee is paid by the County. No one but the veteran, his family,. or a veteran organization official is permitted to look at these records.
